Reiki Master, Teacher, Artisan, Empath, Lightworker, Volunteer, Owner of Divine Shine Reiki. I love helping people and want to be a part of bringing joy, harmony, growth, and balance to the lives of others who are seeking it.  We are all spiritual beings here to support each other on our journey through the human experience and if we can assist others to live a more comfortable life whether that be on a mind, body, spirit or emotional level then we should.

I have worked in many assistive fields from my early career years in helping people to achieve their dream of homeownership to working as a Personal Attendant assisting people with activities of daily living, to Certified Nursing Assistant to working in my local communities in many capacities to volunteering work.  All of the roles in my life and many directional signs from the universe (more like nudges then pushes), led me to Reiki and to helping others in this way.

As a child, my parents sent me to a church summer camp every year. Early every morning we would be sent out on our own to find a quiet spot to watch the sunrise and to be still and listen.  I would always sit in a spot where I could watch the mist rise across the lake while the sun shone down and sparkled like diamonds across the water. It was the most peaceful time of my life until now. I didn’t know it at the time, but this was one of the most valuable lessons in my life.  Lessons about being still and listening, about being centered and grounded, about connecting with the positive universal life energy that is all around and in us, are so very important to our overall health and happiness.

As a teenager I began to have premonitions and dreams of things that were not pleasant, but which always came true.  I also was able to feel the emotions of others very strongly and was not able to turn off this overload. I was in a school with open classrooms which made this tremendously over stimulating and my parents were going through a divorce at home so there was no quiet time internally from all of this extraordinary sensory stimulation! I made a conscious effort to tell source that I didn’t want these terrible dreams that foretold negative future events to happen anymore, because I didn’t know how to handle them and there was no one that I felt comfortable talking about it with.  I did successfully turn off the visions, but I also turned off my intuition in the process!  I was no longer able to vet the intentions of others and had to learn about boundaries and about protecting my own energy. That, much like when someone is drowning and you must save yourself first, when I am kind to others it starts with being kind to myself first and foremost, that it is okay to say no and that enough is enough and, that sometimes you must let go of those you love or physical places like a job, because it is not serving your higher purpose. I also had to learn that freewill is freewill, everyone has it. Some people unfortunately may choose to stay stuck in pain and chaos and don’t really want the help they indicate they are looking for, what they want is others energy to feed off of. These are all lessons I had to experience and learn first, to become a Reiki Master and effectively teach others so there is gratitude in the journey and that in and of itself is an important lesson - gratitude.

Reiki energy is like oxygen it is all around us, in us, ever present and mandatory for homeostasis and wellbeing. Also, like oxygen; the more we use it effectively, the healthier our bodies and lives become. If you are interested, I will show you how.

Many people in America have never heard of Reiki but it’s nothing new, in fact most other cultures have names for life force energy from “Chi” to “Ki” to “Prana”.  Even the Egyptians, Romans and Indigenous peoples of America understood and utilized energy in healing. We have had great men like Einstein and Tesla write theories about it and today scientists are proving some of those theories and more, in their studies of Quantum Physics. Researchers at universities like Harvard and UCLA have studied it and many hospitals across the country utilize it in their patient care services.  So, when I hear people say it is “woo woo” or “some type of religion”, I hope they take the time to do research on it and become more informed. There is a lot of scientific ideals and principals that relate to Reiki, such as parasympathetic nervous system activation, biofield and electromagnetic interactions, mind-body coherence, neuroplasticity and cognitive-behavioral science, just to name a few. Some of the ways science studies Reiki is through specialties such as psychophysiology and neurobiology, Luckily, you don’t need to be a Scientist to experience it firsthand!

So many things in my life have led me here, not all have been pleasant, but all have been vital to bringing me to where I am today and for spiritual growth. I could not be happier. I used to suffer from horrible anxiety and panic attacks but not since I have started listening to my inner voice again, finding balance, peace and doing my Reiki self-care routine.  This unexpected journey has led me to a life full of love, light, gratitude, harmony, grace, and healing. Reiki has had such a positive influence on my life, and I know it will for you as well!  I look forward to sharing these healing life skills with you!

Love and light, Kimberley
